Which things are offered to Govardhan Maharaj
On the day of Govardhan Puja, when there is a new crop, its bhog is offered, Annakoot is made and there is a tradition of offering the same. Along with Annakoot, 56 bhog prasad is also prepared for Lord Krishna.
On this day, a mountain named Govardhan Giri is worshiped as God.
On the day of Govardhan Puja, wake up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning, take a bath and worship Lord Krishna.
After this, make a statue of Govardhan Maharaj in the courtyard of the house in the afternoon.
Along with Govardhan Maharaj, statues of cow and Braj are also made.
An important aspect of Govardhan Puja is to circumambulate around the mountain made of cow dung which represents Govardhan mountain. This is done by hailing Lord Govardhan. After the necessary circumambulations are completed, barley is sown on the ground.
After this, Govardhan Maharaj and all the statues should be decorated by putting peacock feathers and flowers. Water, incense sticks, fruits and other offerings are offered in the puja. This puja is done early in the morning or late in the evening.
